The standout is the Model 3 Long Range RWD: zero observed failures at a median age of 7 years and roughly 80,000 median miles. When a model that old and that driven runs clean, a certified score on the listing is not a formality. It is a merchandising weapon.
The Gaps Hide Inside Brands, Not Between Them
Buyers assume battery risk follows the badge. It doesn't.
Within Tesla alone, the Model 3 Standard Range showed a 1.21% observed failure rate while the Model Y Long Range showed 0.29%, roughly a 4x gap between two vehicles a shopper would consider interchangeable [1].
