Recharged
How an EV-only dealership built a transparent scoring system that sells cars before buyers arrive.
Recharged is an EV-focused dealership that has built its entire business model around one premise: buyers who understand what they're purchasing are better customers. From the beginning, Recharged positioned itself as the dealership that could answer every EV question — not just in the showroom, but before a buyer ever made contact. Their inventory is exclusively electric, and their reputation depends entirely on the trust they build with an increasingly informed buyer base.
In a market where most used EV listings show nothing beyond year, mileage, and price, standing out requires more than good photography and competitive pricing. Recharged needed a way to communicate the actual condition of every EV in their inventory — specifically the battery, which is the one component buyers can't evaluate with a test drive. Without that data visible upfront, every conversation started from a position of uncertainty that the buyer had to overcome before they could commit.
Recharged partnered with Voltest to physically test every EV on arrival, with results feeding directly into the vehicle listing on their website. The output became the Recharged Score — a visible, buyer-facing metric that shows battery state of health, estimated real-world range, savings versus a comparable gas car, residual manufacturer warranty, AC and DC charging times, and detailed cell voltage readings.
Every buyer who visits the Recharged website sees this data before they make a single call or send a single message. John Foley and his team built the process so that testing is not optional and transparency is not a feature — it's the foundation.
Buyers arrive at Recharged having already processed the information that would otherwise become objections in the showroom. Range anxiety is resolved on the website. Battery health concerns are answered by a number, not a promise. The sales conversation starts further along because the buyer has already done their comparison and made a preliminary decision before stepping on the lot.
Inventory moves faster because pre-qualified buyers convert at a higher rate, and the transparency that the Recharged Score creates makes price negotiations shorter and more grounded in actual vehicle value.
“This is what the future of used EV sales looks like, and Recharged is already making it happen.”
Transparency before the visit is not just good customer service — it is a sales strategy. Every question answered on the website is an objection that never needs to be handled in the showroom.
